------------- 2008.03.01: Standing Firm Through the Storm In these trying times it seems like almost every week we hear of another pool contractor who either can't pay their bills or is simply ceasing operations and closing their doors. Barwick Pools has been in business for 32 years. The SN-SO-NB-CS that is found on some of our materials stands for Same Name, Same Ownership, No Bankruptcies and Continuous Service. We are the oldest pool company in both Sarasota and Manatee counties. This is not the first recession we've ridden out and it probably won't be the last. We are a small company, family owned and operated and we have both extremely low overhead and direct owner involvement in each and every project. These factors allow us the flexibility required to weather the storms. We will be here for the long haul so that you can rest assured that your pool project will be followed through to completion, our vendors will be paid on time and if your pool requires warranty work in the future the oldest name in the business will still be here when you need us. ------------- 2008.02.01: Believe It or Not - Prices Still Rising That's right. As unbelievable as it sounds, increased fuel prices are forcing our suppliers to continue to raise prices. However, we have thus far been able to absorb most of these increases instead of passing them on to you, the consumer. ------------- 2007.05.31: Website Relaunch! Our website got a face lift! We switched over from Flash content to HTML to make our site more accessible to the public and to the Google search robots. The content is still the same, just a different format. Take a look and see for yourself! ------------- 2007.03.13: Finally! Some Good News About Pricing After all the price increases we've received over the past couple of years, we are very happy to announce that there is finally a little relief. We have recently received a 5% reduction in aluminum pool cage prices. It's not huge, but it's definitely welcomed. ------------- 2005.01.21: Material Costs Continue to Rise In June, 2004 we updated you about material shortages caused by the construction of China's Yangtzee River dam. As you know, shortly after that Florida was hit by several major hurricanes, destroying homes and businesses and increasing the demand for the already short supply of essential building materials. Here's a fact you should know: Over the past twelve months construction costs have increased as much as in the previous five years combined. ------------- 2004.05.31: Gold Award Received for Casey Key Project The Florida Swimming Pool Association rewarded us in May with a Gold Award for a project we did on Casey Key last year. Photos of the pool can be seen in Gallery images 1, 2 & 3. The award was for the Residential Concrete Pools with a Vanishing Edge category. ------------- 2003.12.04: BarwickPools.com and Virtual Pool Builder launch into public view! After great anticipation and much patient waiting, BarwickPools.com is finally open to the public! Designed and built by Brad Barwick and equipped with his Virtual Pool Builder, this is the first and only known website where a potential customer can actually design and price their own virtual pool right on line. A spectacular feat for any pool company and one that we're especially proud of. |
